How do you shape cost on a first build?

First builds are scoped as a fixed piece of work — a written brief, a small set of measurable outcomes, and a single price. We push back on anything that does not change the outcome. Once the system is in production, we move to a retained operating arrangement priced by month, scaled to traffic, complexity, and the response time you need.

What does “operate” actually include?

Uptime monitoring, error tracking, backups and restore tests, security and dependency updates, infrastructure cost review, small feature changes within an agreed envelope, and a named human responding to incidents within the time we have agreed in writing. Anything outside the envelope is quoted before we touch it.

Question 3

Who owns the code and the data?

Accepted Answer

You do. The source code, the production data, the cloud accounts, the domains, and any third-party logins sit in your name from day one. We work inside accounts you own. Nothing is held back to keep you on a retainer.

Question 4

What is in a handover pack?

Accepted Answer

A written run-book covering architecture, dependencies, deployment, secrets rotation, backups, and incident response; a decision log explaining why the system is built the way it is; access to every account and repository; and a recorded walk-through with whichever engineer is taking over. We aim for same-day handover when a transition is requested.

What happens if Perpetually is acquired or winds down?

Because the accounts, code, and data live in your name, continuity does not depend on Perpetually continuing to exist. The handover pack is written so a competent engineer who has never seen the system can take it over within a few days. Our standard engagement letter spells out the transition obligations explicitly.

Do you take equity in external builds?

Accepted Answer

Occasionally, and only where it aligns with how the venture is operated long-term. Default engagements are paid in cash. If equity is on the table, we write it down clearly and keep the operating contract separate.

Question 7

Why don’t you list client logos?

Accepted Answer

Most of the systems we operate run quietly inside someone else’s business. Listing them would either misrepresent the work or expose customers we have promised not to identify. We are happy to walk a partner or investor through specific ventures under NDA.

Question 8

How quickly do you reply?

Accepted Answer

Within two working days for new enquiries, usually faster. Incident response on operated systems is governed by the service level agreed in the operating contract, not by this site.
